COVID-19 Coronavirus Lockdown Two
So, for the third time in a row, we were prevented from meeting up.
Instead, we once again met in the virtual pub.
A few reminders of our weekend vPub evening
THE USUAL SUSPECTS...
- Charlie "Film Fest 400" Grant
- Pete "Oops, I forgot" Smith
- Simon "Pub goer" Piercy
- Tim "Insurance dodge" Spate
- Dave "Hedgehog feeder" Noble
Friday
Charlie, Simon, Dave & Tim met in a Zoom-hosted virtual pub. Then, when Pete failed to show up, we all guessed he'd forgotten and a phone call confirmed it. He eventually arrived.
It wasn't long before Pete's session had frozen - and we were all subjected to this static view of him ...
Tim explained that 15 month-old son, Ben, had just gone to bed.
While Simon was pouring his beer, he managed to spill it on his keyboard.
The Usual Suspects
We all compared what side effects we had suffered after our first COVID-19 vaccinations.
We also tallied-up how many times each of us had visited a pub since lockdown eased, slightly. Here is the official count:
Charlie - Zero
Pete - Zero
Tim - Zero
Dave - Zero
Simon - Three
Simon had some news about the cottage - as well as a new TV, there is talk of broadband internet being installed, at some point!
We saw Julia's car pull into the drive, home from work - and when she came in, Simon switched to speakers so that we could say hello (and talk about "sputum"!)
Dave showed us a video (in infra red) of four hedgehogs that visit them regularly... cute! And here's what they might look like in daylight ...
We discussed cars and how lockdown had caused many of us to wait before replacing our current models. A mention of insurance prompted Tim to explain that a dent-causing bump on his car was not noticed by the insurnace company when assessing the loss involved in his more serious later accident - mainly because it resulted in the car being upside-down!
We agreed it would be great to meet-up for real, when we are allowed to sit in a pub - and eventually agreed to meet in Nottingham on ...
Simon informed us that the cottage was booked for November ...
We had a good catch-up and looked forward to meeting up for real, a few times later in the year.
